Fashion week in Miami has begun! I am so excited I’ll be attending again this year, as this is my favorite fashion event in Miami! This year will be my third time attending MIAFW. My first time attending was in 2016 about a year after moving to Miami and I also went in 2017. Last year however, I was preparing for my trip to Russia for the World Cup so I was unable to attend. Anyway, if you are also planning to go to MIAFW and have not decided quite yet what you will be wearing, I have provided some tips below that will help you! And if you are needing inspiration, I have also shared below the outfits I wore in previous years. I hope you like them and remember that “Every day is a fashion show and the world is your runway!”
SPRING/SUMMER COLORS: Since it is spring and summer is coming up, it is always a good choice to dress with the colors of the season. Colors like the following are great choices:
- White
- Beige
- Yellow
- Coral
- Lilac
- Fuschia
- Lime Green
- Light Blue/Blue
- Black
PS: White is best for the day time, however depending on the look and style could work for a night time event.
FLORALS: Although there are many prints and patterns trending, the one that is always a must have during this season is usually florals!
SUITS: Probably when you read this you thought… wait, what?!?
And it is because most people will opt or decide to wear a dress for fashion events like MIAFW. However, suits (women suits, whether it is pants or skirt suits) are currently trending, specifically if it is a bright color.
DENIM: If you’d rather go with a look that is more casual, a denim dress can be a great option
HATS: Hats can be an important accessory to complete the overall look of the outfit depending on how you style it. For example, you would not wear a beach hat with an elegant dress. A better example would be if you want to have an edgy or casual look you could style it with a Fedora hat. Or a classic look that you don’t want to look simple then you could add a hat as long as it goes with the outfit style (check out my romper outfit below). Just please remember that if you decide to wear a big hat make sure to take it off for the fashion shows. You don’t want to block anyone’s view.
Great article! Thank you!
