LIF WEEK Spring/Summer 2019: Day 2

This past October 25th was the second day of Lima Fashion Week. This time LIF WEEK was held at the Country Club Hotel. The six designers that presented their collections were: Yirko Sivirich, Paola Gamero, the brand Ludvic, Omar Valladolid, Andrea Llosa, and Noe Bernacelli.

The first show of the night began with Yirko Sivirich’s designs inspired by the Peruvian Amazon. Many of the garments had prints of leaves or butterflies, blueish colors, and even a sweater with the face of a parrot. Designer Paola Gamero also hit the runway with her beach inspired designs, so most of her garments had light color tones like white, lilac, and sand. The collection was a mix of swimsuits, palazzos, long and short dresses. After, the Ludvic brand which is a brand of swimwear for men, presented for the first time in LIF Week showing different styles of swimwear. Some in pastel colors with fruit prints, others with geometric figures, and the rest in different color tones of blue and light blue with graphic images of ocean waves.

The second and last fashion show of the night began with Omar Valladolid’s designs. His collection was inspired by religious clothing creating sophisticated garments and showcasing a minimalist look. Afterwards, fashion designer Andrea Llosa showed off resort styled garments. Given the situations of violence that many women currently face in Peru, Andrea was inspired to promote freedom. All of her models had the mouth covered with an accessory in the form of hands and had painted feminist messages on their arms. Noe Bernacelli was the designer who closed off the night of LIF Week showing his collection of elegant designs for both men and women. He presented a mix of jackets, sweaters, pants, and shorts for men, mostly in a light sand color and for the women collection a mix of long and short dress, skirts, pants, and jackets.
